What our Kerastem advanced hair therapy patients say
Patient: Male, aged 35
Procedure: Kerastem advanced hair therapy under general anaesthesia (TIVA).
“After the treatment the healing was really good, really quick. I think the biggest difference I have noticed is the rate of growth and certainly my hair feels different, feels stronger.
I picked this treatment because it used my own cells and was a natural treatment. Before I opted for this treatment I was having PRP treatment because I was aware that I kept putting more chemicals into skin and scalp. Whereas what you’re using for Kerastem is all me”.
By the time of my procedure, I felt confident that everything would go well, and the great but natural results speak for themselves.
Patient: Female, aged 35
Procedure: Kerastem advanced hair therapy under general anaesthesia (TIVA).
“From my one week follow up after the treatment I could see the difference in my hair, even though it was only slight.
The treatment in itself could not have gone any smoother and over the last 11 months I can see and feel how thick my hair has become, and even the hair dresser has commented on how much thicker my hair is. I can’t ask for anymore, the treatment has been fantastic”.
A great experience, very much looking forward to reviewing the results over the coming months.
How does Kerastem compare to other treatments?
Patient: Male, aged 35
“I tried probably everything on the market before, regular monthly PRP treatments, micro-needling, every kind of topical preparation, foam, creams, shampoo. It was helping but I was still having to do quite a lot of faking it with hair products. I was given the opportunity to have Kerastem and I thought I would give it a try, as a kind of more permanent solution rather than having my scalp injected monthly. So far it has been great, I have had nothing else since I had the treatment done and used no topical ointments”.
After the treatment the healing was really good, really quick. The biggest difference I have noticed is the growth and certainly my hair feels denser. My hair feels stronger as well.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE PROCEDURE?
Kerastem stem cell hair loss treatment is performed as a surgical day case procedure under general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia. The procedure is minimally invasive and takes around 90 minutes. A small amount of fat is extracted from your abdomen by liposuction, around 200-300cc.
The fat tissue is then broken down through enzymatic digestion to obtain the regenerative cells (stromal vascular fraction) which will be gently injected under the skin of the scalp. A small amount of fat is processed separately and mixed with the regenerative stem cells to create a super enriched fat which is injected into the scalp.
HOW LONG DOES THE SURGERY TAKE?
The procedure may take between 60-120 minutes.
HOW CAN I SUPPORT MY RESULTS?
Kerastem has brought back fat cells and regenerative cells to the scalp and through PRP treatment, the platelets can help to drive the cell division activation. PRP, also known as Platelet Rich Plasma, is a natural, non-surgical treatment that uses the regenerative power of your own blood. Blood contains platelets and other cells that naturally work to heal damaged or aged tissues. Platelets play a vital role in healing by releasing growth factors, which are proteins that stimulate the growth and repair of specific tissues.
WHAT FORM OF ANAESTHETIC WILL BE USED?
Kerastem advanced hair therapy is performed under total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA), a technique of anaesthesia which uses a combination of agents given exclusively via the intravenous route without the use of gas anaesthesia. This means you will sleep comfortably throughout the procedure and wake immediately afterwards with a significantly reduced likelihood of feeling groggy or nauseous. The anaesthesia will be explained to you by your Anaesthetist during the preoperative consultation.
WHAT EFFECT CAN SMOKING AND ALCOHOL HAVE ON MY STEM CELL AND FAT GRAFTING RESULTS?
Certain lifestyle factors can increase the risk of complications during and after your surgery. The most common impact of smoking before your surgery is that it increases your chances of developing an infection and inhibits your body’s natural healing processes. We insist that all patients stop smoking and using nicotine products at least six weeks before surgery. Reducing alcohol intake is also strongly advised. This is particularly important for fat grafting surgery in which the fat’s viability post-procedure is materially reduced in a smoker population.
